JILLEEN

For Jilleen, music is the vehicle – God’s love is the message. At a time when many Christian Music Artists are pulled away from ministry and pushed toward “industry” obligations, Jilleen has maintained focus on her life’s mission; to be a conduit through her words and songs bringing the message of God’s love to a hurting world. Jilleen’s ministry is best exemplified through her life verse Mark 12:30 - “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”

Whether performing before a crowd of hundreds (The Crystal Cathedral, Saddleback Church, Union Church, The American Cancer Society) or in a small country church, Jilleen’s message of hope and healing is both positive and inspirational. She is considered to be one of the major defining voices in Christian Music today. “Jilleen’s music touches the hearts of many. She was a very important part of our music ministry here at Saddleback Church. I admire her servant heart and ambition to serve God in full time music ministry,” says Rick Muchow, Magnification Pastor, Saddleback Church, Lake Forest, CA.

“People can relate to the pertinent message in my music. Sometimes we have good days. Sometimes we have bad days. It all depends upon the day! My goal is to enable the listener to experience God in their everyday circumstances, especially in the small things.”

In 2003, Jilleen felt called by God to broaden her ministry to women and now speaks on a variety of topics that have encouraged and entertained women at retreats, conferences and ministry events nationwide.

In 1997, Jilleen graduated from Concordia University, Irvine with a Bachelor's Degree in Music and in 2001, Jilleen was awarded the Concordia University Alumni Award for her contributions towards helping to fulfill The Great Commission.

During her career, Jilleen has shared the stage with CCM greats like Bryan Duncan, Al Denson and Patty Cabrera and has performed for events sponsored by The California Southern Baptist Convention and Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS). Jilleen has appeared on several local and national radio shows including the Let’s Talk Radio Show on 93.5 FM KFSG, The Worship Café on 107.9 FM KWVE, The Indie Edge Show on 99.5 FM KKLA and The Bible Broadcasting Network.

LEAH MARTENSEN

Leah Martensen has a personal secret she wants to share: God is in the business of using us to share his perfect love, despite our own imperfection...." He is calling people to come as they are and contribute to the world the best way they can. And Leah should know she is a successful Christian artist who has performed and toured for the past sixteen years.

Realizing that God is not in the business of calling only the equipped but equipping those he calls, Leah is the first to state that she is not a typical musician. "I'm not looking for fame and stardom, nor am I what ‘stardom’ is looking for”, she says. “I have a simple message and I tell my story: God is using me in spite of what I'm not. I've traveled the world telling this story.”

“People all over the world are lost”, says Leah. “God’s love endures, however – we need to keep praying, keep hoping, dreaming and loving each other, following Christ’s example.”

“When I perform, I sing with positivity, not perfection,” says Leah, who has re-worked a traditional hymn, ’Ten Thousand Angels’ into a

contemporary version for ‘Still…’

“I hope my audience will appreciate the message of my new songs and like me, be the best they can be at what God has called them to do”.

BETH CHAMPION MASON

Somewhere between Nashville and Virginia, driving through the mountains of North Carolina one October day, Beth Champion Mason was struck by the picture-perfect view of autumn colors against an azure-blue sky, and through that beauty God sent a simple message:  “I love you.”  In that moment, the song “Postcards” was born.  It was a moment of clarity and peace, a moment when God was very present.  And it was just another stop along a winding journey for Beth.

“I decided to call the new CD Postcards because a postcard tells a little blurb about a certain point along a journey, but it doesn’t tell the whole story,”  Beth explains.  “To me, these songs are like that – each one describes a point along my journey, but none of them tells the whole story about me or my faith.  Every song is just a snapshot.  But it seems to me that in life, if you look hard enough, during every point on your journey you can see the ways that God is trying to say, ‘I love you.’”

Beth’s journey has definitely been a winding one.  Born and raised in Southeastern Virginia, Beth loved to sing from a very young age, started playing piano at age 7, and wrote her first song at age 12.  She had dreams of a singing career early on, but as she got a little older, Beth was sidetracked from her dreams and dragged down into a life of alcohol and drug abuse.  She turned her back on the faith her parents tried to instill in her, and instead tried everything the world had to offer.  Even while on this detour, Beth knew that God was the path she was seeking – yet she convinced herself that she had ventured too far for God to still love her.  She was wrong.

God miraculously opened Beth’s eyes to His redeeming love, and gave her the second chance she so desperately needed, delivering her from the addiction that had gripped her life.  But even though Beth was deeply grateful for God’s redemption, she thought that she had waited too long to pursue a music career.  Besides, trying to make it as a professional musician was just not practical.  Instead, she went to college, got a sensible degree, entered the business world, and put her music dreams away indefinitely.  But Someone had other plans.

A few years later while deep in prayer, Beth felt the unmistakable call of God to dedicate her life to music ministry.  Although she was not involved in music ministry at the time—and she wasn’t sure what form “music ministry” would take—she made a promise to God that if He would open the doors, she would walk through them.  A short two weeks later, Beth received an unexpected phone call from the pastor at her church:  the music minister had suddenly quit and the church was in need of an interim music director.  Knowing that this was the first door the Lord was opening, she accepted.  That interim position turned into a nearly two-year assignment.  During that time, her purpose began to crystallize into a more clear vision.  She began writing songs again, this time focusing them on encouraging other believers and expressing her own fears and joys in light of her relationship with God.

The Lord eventually led Beth to another church, where today she is the worship leader, and He started opening up doors for her to perform her songs in her local area.  As she began sharing her music, more and more people started asking for recordings of her songs, so she finally decided it was time to record a CD.  Though she never expected the CD to be much more than a local offering, her debut album All I Have, released in 2002, went on to receive international recognition in various competitions. Encouraged by the success of that CD, Beth went on to record her sophomore album, Postcards, which has been released regionally in Spring 2005.  It will be released nationally in late summer 2005.

Beth now performs up and down the East Coast and beyond, including concerts, festival events, guest worship leading, coffeehouse concerts, and numerous other events—an average of 100 events per year.  Though she has shared the stage with national artists such as FFH, she also loves to perform in intimate settings where she can get to know the people in her audience and really minister through the music.

It’s true that the Lord sometimes works in mysterious ways.  Though we would prefer a direct route to our goals, He often chooses a winding path to lead us exactly where He wants us to be.  And maybe it’s better that way.  The scenic route usually has a much more interesting view.  Beth Champion Mason is a songwriter and artist who is open to the Lord’s leading—no matter how mysterious—and winding—His ways might be.

BREE NOBLE

In January 2007, Bree Noble was named Best Female Performer at the Inland Empire Music Awards in Southern California. She was also a finalist in the 2007 En Sound Gospel Music Awards in two categories:Contemporary Female Artist and Christian Contemporary Album. Her powerful vocals and commanding stage presence have captured audiences at large venues such as Saddleback Church and The Coach House. In July 2006 Bree was honored to perform the national anthem in front of a sold out crowd at Dodger Stadium. Those who have heard her will tell you that she has the unusual ability to sing anything from Pop/Rock to Opera. Whether she’s performing her signature lyric-driven pop/rock or leading a congregation in a familiar worship chorus or hymn, Bree’s vocals communicate deep emotion.

Bree likes to think of herself not as a Christian songwriter, but as a songwriter who is a Christian. She writes about specific aspects of her own Christian walk, but she also writes about problems that are universal like greed, homelessness, racism, and family situations. And then there are those special songs that are her most personal, that convey her heart, not just as a woman of faith but as an individual who has learned to overcome great adversity. Bree has Glaucoma and has been legally blind since birth. With songs such as “Running” and “You Are My Vision” she unveils her most intimate feelings about growing up with a disability and how it has affected her life and her relationship with God.

In 2006 Bree began presenting “You Are My Vision”, a narrative and musical journey through her life growing up visually impaired, for events including MOPS (Mothers Of Pre Schoolers), Christian Women’s Club, women’s retreats, worship services and community groups. With this presentation, Bree strives to inspire and encourage audiences to trust God in all things and to lean on Him in times of struggle. “After the surgery on my right eye at age 17 had ended disastrously, the left eye was all I had left. In my 20s I started to battle a new eye problem, a massive cataract had developed in my left eye. After all the surgeries I’d had as a baby, scar tissue had built up and over time massed into a cataract. This was another good chance for me to put my trust in God. I developed double vision when in bright sun which meant it was hard to tell where the sidewalk ended. It also made it impossible to see when going from sunlight to a darker setting. It was like walking into a pitch black movie theatre when just walking into any building from outside. I remember praying a lot as I stepped over the threshold that God would guide me around any objects or people I couldn’t see. The experience was like being in free fall, suddenly isolated and alone with only God (or my husband) to take my hand and show me the way. It’s amazing how God takes the bad and turns it into something so incredibly good, so unfathomable. I could never have orchestrated things to work out as they did. His timing is perfect. This cataract that was such a burden led me to a great new job, and a dear friend who donated a top notch surgery to remove the cataract and give me a whole new lens.
The story is amazing…”

ALLISON LYNN

For many years, Allison Lynn lead an eclectic career singing all kinds of music from music theatre to jazz to gospel to big band. She was born and raised in the church, but that didn't always affect the choices she made in her life and career.

In 2001, the suicide of a family member shook Allison's life, and her faith in God, to the core. But God proved faithful, and Allison learned many lessons about the infinite and unconditional love of her Lord.

But in 2005, Allison felt at a crossroads in her career. She knew she had to stop trying to do everything and just focus on one musical style. So she started to pray to God for an answer. That summer, she attended Ben Speer's Stamps-Baxter School of Music in Nashville, TN, and God touched her life in a deep and profound way. She returned to her home in Toronto, ON, and started a gospel music ministry, singing at churches, festivals, and special events.

Within months, God was calling again, and Allison and her husband decided to make the move to Nashville. After many months of legal work, Allison was awarded an 01 (Artist) Visa, allowing her to live and work in the United States for a 3 year period.

Allison has true stories of hearing God's call and answering it. She refused that call for many years, and is more than happy to tell you that answering that call has brought rewards and experiences beyond her wildest dreams.

Allison's music and message combines all aspects of her life. Her wide-ranging repertoire of original songs, hymns, and gospel classics mix the sounds of Southern Gospel, big band, acoustic, and jazz. Her stories of overcoming grief and depression, and committing her life entirely to God, will comfort and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds.

Whether singing a fully staged concert, or leading a sing-along in a small inner-city church, Allison Lynn brings a message of God's unconditional love and faithfulness to all who hear.

TARA JACKSON

Tara has a genuine heart for ministering to the church and an exceptional voice for just such a purpose,” is how Camp Kirkland describes Tara Jackson.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, and raised just outside of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Tara grew up in a ministry oriented family. With both of her parents actively involved in the church music ministry, Tara was raised with not only a love for music, but a love for the Lord. At a young age, she began singing duets with her mother, and became actively involved in the children’s choir. During her childhood, God used these experiences and other defining moments to plant a desire in her heart to deliver His message through music.

Throughout high school, being a part of state and national choral programs, along with involvement in an organization ministering to students about abstinence and dating, Tara began to clearly see the path God was beginning to define for her future ministry. However, the passion she feels for her ministry today became deeply rooted in her college years at Appalachian State University, where she took a position in the music ministry at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Boone, North Carolina.

One of her most memorable experiences while at Appalachian State University came through singing and ministering at Hebron Colony, a Christian recovery center for alcohol and drug addiction. Here, God used her voice to minister to the hearts of the program participants.

More recently, Tara has become involved with The Bridge Ministry in Nashville, TN. This ministry was founded in 2004 by Candy Christmas to reach out to the homeless and low-income population of Nashville and the greater metro area. At least twice a week, Tara faithfully sings with Candy and other local gospel artists for the Bridge Ministry. “Every week we encounter new people who have never been told that Jesus loves them and that we love them. Each and every week, I am amazed at how God moves among the forgotten people of our community, and changes lives right in front of our eyes.” Tara's love for the Lord and her desire to see people's lives changed by God exceeds even her vocal talent.

Tara aspires to make music that will reach to the heart of every individual, to see people’s lives changed by the power of God. She says, “I am committed to sharing Christ, and living my life as a testimony of how greatly God can use His children to share His love.”
